Avani + Shreshth
An Old World Romance

Avani and Shreshth’s Wedding was a royal one with a perfect blend of age-old traditions & customs enjoyed between both families and their friends from India and abroad.

Their brief was to get inspired from nuances of Rajasthan, Udaipuri prints, block motifs, textiles and the walls of the property itself, Trident Udaipur, which acted as a beautiful heritage backdrop for their ceremonies.

SANGEET

A casual star-lit evening to kick off the 3-day gala affair. They wanted their first function to be simple & minimal, yet not lack on the glitz, to balance out the burst of Regalia in the upcoming functions.

HALDI

Genda phool, being a traditional flower synonymous with Indian weddings, was beautifully used around the pool area: a floral rangoli walkway, Nandiji welcoming the guests, a floral jharokha artist stage with coloured glass windows, and a bar made up of embedded Marigold flowers. A stunning backdrop of twin peacocks made in coloured mirror mosaic amidst a bed of marigold was created for their Haldi ceremony.

BARAAT DINNER

The couple wanted a sufiyana shaam to welcome the baraat an evening before their morning wedding rituals. A very spiritual atmosphere was recreated in the entire venue with diya-lit arches with bells hanging as if entering into a temple, leaf standees inscribed with holy chants intermingled with temple-tops & terracotta pots filled up the lawn.

WEDDING

The morning wedding was conducted amidst a Lotus Pond created right at the edge of Lake Pichola in the beautiful property of Udaivilas Palace. The mandap was set underneath a life-size concentric lotus-shaped chandelier of Rajnigandha strings.
